Murder mum on net date

Murdered . . . Usha Patel and hunted Mile Donnelly

A MOTHER was murdered in her home after agreeing to see a man she met online.

Cops launched a manhunt for Miles Donnelly, 34, in connection with the death of Usha Patel, 44.

Officers were seen comforting her autistic son Jack, five, after the grim discovery in Cricklewood, North-West London.

A man who lives in a flat below Ms Patel’s said he heard someone enter their building early on Thursday and later saw her front door ajar as he left for work.

Usha was said to be a full-time carer for Jack. He was seen holding an officer’s hand and playing in a patrol car shortly after the body was found.

Officers said Jack had been taken to a “safe place”.

Donnelly, also known as Miles Ryan, last lived in Paddington. He is 5ft 11 and is believed to move around the capital.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner said: “I am very keen to speak to him, as he may have information to assist me.”

Usha, who died on the same street where serial killer Dennis Nilsen murdered his first victims, was described by neighbours as a “wonderful” mum.

One, who only gave the name Tony, said: “Usha parted company with a bloke a couple of years ago. She was wonderfully good to her son, Jack. She’s a good mum — an extremely good mum.

A parent at Anson Primary School, which Jack attended, said: “Usha was well-respected and loved here.”
