Stars flock to Twitter to praise the tennis ace after he won his second gold medal
STARS including Olly Murs, Ant and Dec and Alesha Dixon have flocked to Twitter to congratulate Andy Murray after his historic victory at the Rio Olympics.
The tennis ace successfully defended his Olympic title to pick up a gold medal at the games last night following a tense four-set showdown with Argentina’s Juan Martin del Potro.

Murray, who won gold at the London 2012 games, added another medal to his collection last night after emerging victorious in the mens’ singles final which kept fans on the edge of their seats.
He claimed gold, winning the match 7-5 4-6 6-2 7-5 to become the first man to retain the title in back-to-back Olympics.
The victory became a hot topic on Twitter as his famous fans took to the social networking website to express their delight after Murray picked up his second Olympic gold.
Murray’s mum Judy also took to Twitter to share her joy with fans, revealing she was so nervous during the final that she had to turn off the sound on her TV.
She wrote: “4 hours of torture. Made slightly more bearable after I switched the sound off after 3 games. #Olympics #tennis…”

Stars from the world of sport also waded in, with seven-time Olympic medal-winner Sir Chris Hoy tweeting: “Job done @andy_murray !!!…”
Dame Kelly Holmes added: “well done to @andy_murray @Wimbledon champ and now @Rio2016_en Olympic Champ. Who’s you bet for SPOTY? So many to choose from.”
Murray’s win came just weeks after his victory at Wimbledon, and fours years after his previous Olympic gold in London.
