Loyal dog lies at exact spot where his owner was killed

A GRIEVING dog has been pictured lying at the exact place his owner lost her life in a hit and run accident.

The heart-wrenching snaps show Paco spread out and motionless on the road where Kelly Black, 42, was found dead on Friday.

Police in Jacksonville, Florida, were called to the scene when Kelly was found unresponsive in the middle of the street.

Witnesses saw a truck colliding with the woman in a convenience store car park before dragging her into the road.

Detectives believe it’s possible the driver was completely unaware of what had happened.

Family members were called to collect the grief-stricken pet Twitter

Kelly was walking Paco at the time of the tragedy, according to neighbours.

When residents spotted forlorn Paco lying in the street after the incident, local journalist Russell Colborn drove to the scene to take photographs – posting them on Twitter.

Kelly’s family came to collect Paco – a rescue dog from the aftermath of hurricane Katrina – following a call from the police.
