Stalkers, oddball lovers ... and my legendary boobs

Man trouble ... Caroline nearly lost Strictly as she was so upset over a split

TELLY star Caroline Flack has revealed she was plagued by oddball boyfriends before hitting the big time — and then became a stalking victim.

In her new autobiography she also tells how man trouble could have derailed her career, and at one point even robbed her of her “legendary” boobs.

The X Factor presenter, 35, says on the day she got the job she also received an alarming call from her agent.

He had received an email from the wife of someone called Lestor Simkins saying she had evidence that Caroline had arranged to have casual sex with her husband.

When she checked her Twitter feed the star found dozens of messages from the same woman saying:

“Stay away from my husband.”

The unfounded claims, made earlier this year, came after Caroline was stalked in 2012.
The pest believed she was sending him signals through TV and photos.

At the time she was hosting spin-off show The Xtra Factor and seeing Harry Styles of One Direction.

An email sent to one of her friends by a man called Peter claimed Caroline was “perpetually telling me that she loves me”.

Peter said: “Every night for the last two months, I’ve been thinking about coming and getting her.”

He added he was trying to find out where Caroline lived and vowed to visit her at work.

Caroline noticed the pest, who oddly said he was desperate to “deliver Mr Kipling”, had messaged her every day on Twitter and she dubbed him Kips.

She writes that “crazy and creepy emails” kept coming but she laughed them off. Then, while filming auditions in Manchester, she was called by security staff to her dressing room.

She writes: “There was a balloon, some chocolates and a card just saying, ‘I Love You’. ‘This is the guy, isn’t it?’ I said. ‘Yes. He got in the building but he’s gone now. We just wanted to tell you that he had been here.’”

The man did not reach her dressing room but left the gifts at reception.

She says: “He kept asking to be let through, saying, ‘I’m Caroline Flack’s boyfriend,’ and Security twigged.

“He’d driven up from Wales where he lived with his parents and was in his forties, they said.

“They had no reason to arrest him, so they simply removed him.

“It turned out that he suffered from erotomania which is a form of schizophrenia where you believe someone is trying to contact you.”

A couple of weeks later, Caroline was at the Hackney Big Weekend with Radio 1 when she was told

“Kips” was there looking for her.

She says: “I left. The police found him and arrested him for harassment.”

Undeterred, the man wrote to Adam Crozier, the head of ITV, telling him he had been in a relationship with Caroline for over a year.

She adds: “Kips was re-arrested and we never heard anything again.”

Caroline admits her love life has been a battle between “weeping” and being head over heels in love.

She once dated three men at the same time but has also been romanced by oddballs.

One was in bed with her when he confessed to missing his dead cat. She claims he told her when he buried the pet in his garden he tied a string to its leg so “if I miss her, I can go and touch the string”.

He also demanded that Caroline should pay more in Pizza Express because she’d eaten five dough balls to his three.

On another occasion she and a pal realised they were dating the same man. When they confronted him he sent them a photo of his manhood.

“That was the end of him,” Caroline adds.

She had a long-term relationship with Dave Danger, a drummer with the band The Holloways.

When they split up she lost two stone on what she calls a heartbreak diet and even lost her “Flack boobs” which she described as “legendary”.

She writes: “My boobs completely disappeared and one day I bumped into Dave in the street and he said,

‘You’ve lost all your best bits.’ ‘Yeah,’ I said. ‘My smile’.”

Last year the presenter won Strictly Come Dancing. But she nearly blew it because, unknown to viewers, her 18-month relationship with ex-music manager Jack Street, was ending.

She recalls: “As it started to fall apart, so did I.”

She and Pasha Kovalev were in the quarter finals when she forgot the moves they had rehearsed and had to make some up. Incredibly, they still scored a near maximum 39 points.

Caroline says: “Pasha understood. He knew the reason. My private life was in shreds.”

She was furious that Jack ended their relationship while she was on Strictly. She admits: “He had seen me come back from losing Xtra Factor.

“Now I was finally finding my feet. I felt that he could at least have waited three weeks . . . and I wept.”
