Man turns up to court to face drug charges... with a bag of cocaine on him
A MAN turned up to court to face drug charges - and was found with a big bag of cocaine on him as he sat in the DOCK.
Hapless crook Waqas Khan was on trial for allegedly conspiring to supply cocaine and heroin - for which he was acquitted
But security staff at Luton Crown Court in Bedfordshire searched his bag after he left the courtroom, only to discover clueless Khan had smuggled a large quantity of cocaine into court with him.
The 24-year-old was charged with a single count of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, to which he admitted, and was jailed for 21 months.
He had initially been arrested and charged following a Bedfordshire Police investigation into an organised crime gang which had been supplying cocaine and heroin to people across Luton.
Detective Inspector Paul Baron said: "To turn up in the dock with class A drugs on him shows a complete and utter disregard for the law.
"Khan's actions were beyond belief and I'm pleased that he will face a custodial sentence – showing that he is not in fact above the law."
