DAGGERS DRAWN Shocking moment gang armed with huge knives stab man outside Sainsbury’s… before victim grabs one of their blades and flees
SHOCKING CCTV footage shows a gang of thugs armed with huge knives lunging at a man close to a Sainsbury’s.
The 21-year-old victim managed to grab a knife from one of the suspects as he was stabbed in Tooting High Street, London and threw it away as he fled, police have said.
The victim ran towards the underground station, where he took a tube to Tooting Bec and sought shelter in a fast food restaurant.
Police have now released footage of the incident, which happened in south London at about 5pm on August 4.
The CCTV shows one of the gang in a dark top repeatedly lunge at the man with a huge blade.
The victim is later pursued down the street by three men in hooded tops as he flees.
London Ambulance Service treated the man for his injuries.
He was taken to a south London hospital and later discharged.
Detective Constable Daniel Babbs, from Wandsworth CID, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the two men shown in the footage or the still released, or anyone who witnessed the incident."
Two men, aged 17 and 22, have been arrested in connection with the investigation, but police are still appealing for information.
Police described the first suspect as a large black man, aged in his early 20s, wearing a black hooded jacket over a light coloured top, a dark blue baseball cap, black trousers and black trainers.
The second gang member is described as a black man, also aged in his early 20s, wearing a dark blue shirt, dark coloured trousers and dark trainers.
Both men arrested have been bailed to a date in mid-December pending further enquiries.
