BACK FROM THE DEAD? Everything you need to know about Prison Break season 5 with Wentworth Miller
EIGHT years after the season four finale, Prison Break is returning and fans couldn’t be more excited to see Wentworth Miller and co. return for the Fox smash series.
But what can we expect from the show that many cast members said was unlikely to make a return, and HOW is Wentworth Miller still alive? Here is your SPOILER ALERT.
Alongside Wentworth who plays Michael Scofield, original characters such as Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies), Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), T-Bag (Robert Knepper), and Fernando Sucre (Amaury Nolasco), will also be making a return when the show airs in Spring 2017.
It will be back for nine episodes with original series creator Paul Schuering writing them all.
Fan favourite Wentworth Miller told Digital Spy: “I can tell you it’s seven years later, and you can expect a lot more of the same things that you loved first time around.
“And it will also be quite different as the characters have changed, so my character in particular is no longer just a hero – he’s a few other things as well. I think the fans will get a kick out of it.”
At the end of the last season it seemed like Michael had died, however he’s very much alive but stuck in a Yemini prison after working with an ISIS-style terrorist group – which means if he does break free he’ll still be in big trouble.
His prison break involves his brother Lincoln coming to his aid and the trailer shows some major action scenes and an escape plot that involves the collapse of the government.
Fans have also been speculating that Lincoln will have to die to save his brother after he has to connect himself with some deadly organisations, and with writers teasing that a scene in Episode 8 of the series will make them “weep together.”
The trailer also shows Michael’s son asking about his father, so there are rumours that Michael and Sara will be reunited, with Michael discovering that he is a dad and have missed out on years of his son’s life.
Sara will play a big part of the story, and the theme is said to have been inspired by Greek poem The Odyssey, focussing on a man coming back to life and trying to reunite with his wife and son he doesn’t know exists.
