KONAMII 2015: Organisers target N3.5m for charity
All is now set for the KONAMII 2015 football tournament billed for July 25 at the Campos Square mini stadium, Lagos.
The KONAMII football tournament is organised by Change Africa Project to carter for some selected orphanage homes in Lagos.In a pre-event press briefing in Lagos yesterday, founder and President of Change Africa Project, Olamide Olabisi said, “KONAMII is an inter-orphanage homes football competition which debuted in 2013. It is meant to raise funds to support the orphanage homes and complement the efforts of public-spirited individuals and groups who support these homes.”
He said the event this year will, apart from football, feature dancing competition, Tug of War and other cultural events.
More importantly, the organisers are targeting to raise a whopping N3.5million from activities lined up for the day as celebrities have also been called to grace the event.
“Last year, we raised N1.08m and gave out 50 per cent to the orphanage homes,” Olabisi said, adding, “this year, we hope to give out as much as 50% of whatever we realise from the event.”
The four orphanage homes to take part in the events include Lekki Orphanage Home, Heritage Orphanage, Love Home in Magodo and Sought After Orphanage Home Ajah
