The bottle shattered on the driveway in a ball of fire just metres away from the owner’s £60,000 black Range Rover.

Met Police have since released CCTV of the brainless act and stills which show two hooded men running past the house at the time of the attack.

The 27-year-old daughter of Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, her gold bullion trading husband James Stunt, and their three kids were not thought to have been home at the time.

Friends of the pair said at the time the attack was thought to be motivated by envy.

If anyone had been in the path of the flaming bottle they would have been seriously injured.

It could also have had landed on one of the cars and caused an explosion with devastating consequences.

Firefighters rushed to the property to put out the blaze as cops found the smashed bottle.

The firebomb was launched over the gate at roughly 5.25pm on Sunday, April 24.

The attack is the latest in a string of stressful events for Petra and her family.

Last month her art dealer partner James Stunt had his company offices raided by police investigating a multi-million pound fraud.

After the swoops 34-year-old Stunt claimed he was the victim of theft from his own international gold bullion firm Stunt and Co.

Cops had raided the headquarters of historic jewellers Fowler Oldfield and arrested 10 men and 2 women.

They also raided the luxury offices of Stunt and Co in Mayfair.

Fowler Oldfield and the Stunt family’s businesses are said to be intricately linked.

In the same month his brother Lee was found dead at his parent’s home in Virginia Water, Surrey.

In a string of stressful events for Petra and her family, her father’s mother-in-law was kidnapped in Brazil for a £28million ransom.

Petra has spent million renovating the grade two listed 14-bedroom mansion since the couple purchased it back in 2012.

The hooded arsonists are believed to belong to a street gang but a six month investigation has failed to bring about an arrest.

Detective Constable Clare Reynolds of Kensington and Chelsea CID said of the firebomb in April: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise those shown in the images released, or anyone who witnessed the incident.”

She added: “These men showed a complete disregard for anyone’s safety by blindly throwing flammable liquid over the gate – if anyone had been on the other side they could have been seriously injured.”
Two suspects have been described as being black and wearing dark clothing.
